Project Overview

Eatsmart is an online ordering and restaurant direct digital sales platform developed through ViralConvert AB, connected to the work of Edris Parsay in online ordering and restaurant technology. The product enables restaurants to accept direct orders through their own branded digital channel — online, for pickup or delivery — without routing customers through third-party aggregator platforms.

Like EatPOS and EatExpress, Eatsmart is designed as part of a connected system. Online orders placed through Eatsmart flow directly into the restaurant's POS, maintaining a unified operational view regardless of how the order was placed.

Problem Area

Third-party online ordering platforms create a structural dependency for independent restaurants. They provide customer reach, but at a significant cost: per-order commissions of 15–30%, customer data that stays with the platform rather than the restaurant, and a growing lock-in that becomes more difficult to reverse over time.

For a restaurant operating on tight margins, these commissions can represent the difference between profitability and loss. And because the customer relationship belongs to the platform, the restaurant has no ability to communicate directly with those customers to drive repeat orders or build loyalty.

Eatsmart addresses this by giving restaurants their own direct ordering channel — at a flat cost rather than a per-order commission, with full ownership of the customer data generated.

Technology and Capabilities

Eatsmart provides restaurants with a branded direct ordering experience that can be deployed quickly and managed without technical expertise. Key capabilities include:

  • Branded online ordering page — the restaurant's own URL and visual identity
  • Pickup and delivery order management
  • Online payment processing integrated into the order flow
  • Direct integration with EatPOS — online orders flow directly into the POS
  • Menu management synced with the POS — one update, reflected everywhere
  • Customer data capture — the restaurant owns its customer relationships
  • QR code ordering for in-venue direct ordering use cases

Connection to Edris Parsay

Eatsmart represents an important dimension of Edris Parsay's work: the conviction that independent restaurants should own their digital sales channel and their customer relationships. Restaurant direct digital sales — not platform-mediated sales — is the path to sustainable growth and margin control.
